it was a very long weekend for us students, the weather caused the classe to be suspended for 3 days and then there was a declared national holiday. good thing, i was already able to get my allowance for the whole week which i eventually used when i went to ateneo last friday. it was rainy, i did not want to go but it was the deadline for the submission of application forms for acet. my sister will be taking the exam. aftetr which, i went to starbucks to have some coffee since i have more money to squander. i brought my laptop with me and there i continued writing the story which up to now, is not done yet. i am trying to weave the story very well and come up with something good enough to be read by my friends at the very least.
just a background of the story, it is about two orphans. *smile*
well, genre is homosexuality dealing with anonymity. anyway, i am almost done and as what i have said, i have high hopes that this will be a best seller for 2007.
my sister's application form was received by a certain ra angeles. and can i just say that he is so cute!

Being Dell's outsource is finally over!
First off, while creating this blog, I am chilling to the music of Stacy Ferguson a.k.a Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas.
It was in April 16 that I started my training as a call center agent for Dell Computers at Ambergris Solutions Inc. Philippines, and today, the 21st of July marks it end.
Being in that company is not all fun and games, neither it is pure perks and bunch of monetary rewards. The work is very taxing and at the same time frustrating. Typically, the call will start after we say, "Thank You for calling Dell Customer Care, this is Karl and how may I assist you today?" And then the customer will respond, " Say what? I can barely hear you, this is such a bad connection with the headphones that you are using."
Never will there be a day that will pass by with a customer saying that line from hell. And that frustrates me alot. Honestly, it kinda degrades me when they say that, it seems that my ability to communicate with them sucks. Oh well, Dell demands alot from us outsource, but they cant seem to provide what we need in terms of the facilities that again is soooo frustrating!
I have a couple of funny stories to tell with the three months that I have been an outsource of what claims to be the BEST computer-making company.
One, just recently, I had a customer who called in to ask assistance for her SCOOTER!
Cust: Hi! I am calling about the scooter that I purchased from you guys.
Me: Yes maam, I believe that this is for the printer, right? (of course, scooter and printer rhyme and I told that because I think I am working with a computer company!)
Cust: NO! the scooter, the one that you ride on! (cust is irate!)
Me: Maam, you are calling Dell computers
Cust: I know! S***!
and then she hung up. She was sick, I thought.
Another would be a Filipino by the name of Ariel Javier who is based in Illinois called in to get the invoice of th computer that he bought. I knew it from the beginning that he was a Filipino but I did not ask because we are not allowed to, then...
Cust: Wait, let me ask you something, are you a Filipino?
Me: Yes sir! (all smiles)
Cust: Do you speak tagalog?
Me: Konti lang! (said it in a very Americanized way, pretty much like Sam Milby)
Also, I have customers complaining that our printers "eat ink like popcorn!" or they will say that the computer heats up like a magma and that they would need to put ice bag on it just to cool it down, and then it gets wet and guess what, it gets broken!
Foreigners--Indians, Chinese, Thai people and Mexicans--will always say, "my friend" no matter how mad they are. Imagine, I made alot of friends by just attending to their calls.
And of course, with almost 1000 calls that I attended to, most of them have issues unresolved and that is the most interesnting part of it.
There were calls that I released. Sadly.
